Board Directors provide governance for the district by setting policy, establishing the district's vision, adopting the annual budget, hiring and evaluating the Superintendent, and ensuring every scholar has the opportunity to thrive.

What Does a Board Director Do?

Board Directors serve as elected community leaders responsible for the governance of the school district. Responsibilities include:

  • Attending regular Board meetings and work sessions
  • Developing and adopting district policies
  • Approving the annual district budget
  • Hiring and evaluating the Superintendent
  • Establishing the district's vision and strategic direction
  • Advocating for scholars, families, and the community
  • Supporting continuous improvement and student achievement
