Listening to Scholars, Families & Staff to Strengthen Our Schools
Listening is the first step. Action is the commitment.
Tukwila School District's Climate Survey provides scholars, families, and staff with an opportunity to share their perspectives about their experiences in our schools and district.
The survey helps us understand what is working well, where experiences may differ, and where there are opportunities to strengthen the conditions in which every scholar feels seen, valued, supported, and prepared to thrive.
Climate Survey results are one part of how we listen to our community. Together with Scholar Voice, family and community engagement, school-level listening, and other district data, the results help inform continuous learning and improvement across TSD.
From Voice to Action
Climate Survey data provide important signals—not conclusions. The results help us identify strengths, patterns, questions, and areas where we may need to listen more deeply.
As we review what scholars, families, and staff have shared, we use a continuous improvement cycle:
LISTEN → LEARN → ACT → REPORT BACK
We ask: What are people telling us? What do we need to understand more deeply? What is within our influence to strengthen or change? And how will we communicate what we learn and what happens next?
The goal is not simply to collect feedback. The goal is to learn from it—and make that learning visible.
