Dear Tukwila School District Families, Staff, and Community,
We’re excited to welcome you to a new school year filled with energy, pride, and commitment to every learner we serve. Together, we’ll continue building on our momentum—focusing on academic excellence, equity, and the success of every student, every day.
Teaching Every Child, Reaching Every Goal
This year, we are deepening our work with Universal Design for Instruction (UDI)—a framework that ensures learning is planned from the start to be inclusive, accessible, and meaningful for all.
Whether your child is a multilingual learner, an advanced scholar, receiving additional services, or finding their unique path, we are planning for their success from day one.
Celebrating Our Progress
Thanks to our staff, families, and community partners, we closed last school year with accomplishments that set the stage for even more growth:
- Financial Stability – Strong budget stewardship ensures our schools remain vibrant and well-supported.
- Realigned Partnerships – Collaborations are now focused on maximizing student learning and well-being.
- Inclusive Practices – Events, classrooms, and strategies reflect and celebrate Tukwila’s diversity.
- Student Achievement – Scholars excelled academically, athletically, and in civic leadership.
- Tukwila Promise – Over 50 seniors earned free college credits through our partnership with the City of Tukwila and Highline College.
Grounded in Our Values
Our strategic plan, H.E.R.E. Learning Happens, continues to guide us:
- High Expectations & Excellence – Every learner and staff member striving for their best.
- Engaged Learners – Content that is rigorous, relevant, and connected to students’ lives.
- Relationships – Strong partnerships among classrooms, families, and communities.
- Equity & Empathy – Schools where every student feels seen, heard, and valued.
Looking Ahead
As we begin this school year, know that you belong here, and your contributions matter. Our principals, educators, support staff, and partners are ready to welcome your child into classrooms that are joyful, safe, and full of possibility.
Let’s make 2025–2026 a year of bold learning, strong connections, and meaningful progress—for every scholar, in every school, every day.
With gratitude and anticipation,
Dr. Concie Pedroza
