Tracy Russell

Director District 1

  • 206-612-8154

Favorite school-aged book that students should read: A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle

A native of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Director Russell moved to Tukwila in 2004.  She has four children in the Tukwila School District and is “eager to be part of the team that ensures our district is a place where all of our kids can learn and grow as students and citizens.”  In her nine years as a parent in the district she has been a PTA officer and president, a member of the budget advisory committee, and an enthusiastic volunteer in the classroom and as an organizer of school-wide fundraisers and events at Tukwila Elementary.  She identifies as a “literature nerd” and is passionate about liberal arts education as a means to develop our students’ communication and critical thinking skills.

Director Russell worked as a speech-language pathologist before making the transition to stay-at-home mom and is especially attuned to the needs of our district’s special education students.  She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of New Mexico and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Washington.
