Career Pathways
The Career and Technical Education Department has identified various career pathways which align to the careers most in demand in this region. Students have the opportunity to take courses in each of the CTE Program Areas and Career Clusters at Foster High School. The growth of the CTE Programs at Foster High School is due in part to the generosity of the Tukwila residents who passed the construction bond in 2016. Since the school has reopened, the CTE Department has added career pathways in Environmental Science, Advanced Bio-Technology, Manufacturing, Construction, and Culinary Arts. These programs were added to the existing programs in Business Marketing and Administration and A/V Technology and Communications. These new CTE programs allow students an additional pathway to graduation. Students who are interested in honing their skills to a higher level prior to leaving high school can take courses at the Puget Sound Skill Center and Running Start. Our Dual Credit post-secondary partners allow students who take a Dual Credit class at Foster High School to receive high school credit and receive post-secondary credit for the same class.
