The TSD Technology department is making Chromebooks and Internet Hot Spots available for students in grades K-12.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I get a device?

The form linked above will be turned on starting August 17.  Complete the form above and a device will be prepared by staff.  A staff person will contact you and advise you when you can come get your student's device.  No devices will be distributed until just before the start of school.

I tried to sign up. Why can't I select pre-school?

Devices are being distributed to K-12 students only.

I filled out the form. Why haven't I been called?

Please allow a few days after signing up.  The process is not automated, and someone will contact you as soon as possible.  Due to social distancing, we are attempting to prevent crowds of parents/students from showing up at the same time.

I signed up for a device. How do I get it?

Each school is handling their own devices this year.  Someone from your school will contact you to arrange pick up.

All students/parents need to remain at least 6 feet from staff and any other students/parents who might be waiting.  EVERYONE should be wearing a mask.  Per the state of Washington, it's the law.

Note that Hot Spots are provided through cooperation between the City of Tukwila and the Tukwila School District.  They are not unlimited.  The data plan is more than generous enough to accomodate any schoolwork that may be assigned by teachers.  They will not accomodate the data-intense usage of streamed movies or online gaming.

I picked up a Chromebook. How do I log my child in?

All students are assigned a 7-digit S-number starting with 010, 011, or 012. The username is their S-number as an email (e.g. s0123456@tukwila.wednet.edu) and the password is their date of birth. If their date of birth is September 5, 2012, then the password would be Sep52012.

Children in 2nd grade and lower are provided with QR code badges that they scan to log in.

I picked up a device, but it doesn't work. What do I do?

Call the Help Desk at 206-901-8080. Support staff will assist you.

How/When do I return my devices?

Devices must be returned upon graduation (for high school students) or if a student is leaving the district (moving away, transferring, etc.).  It has been determined that the Fall 2020 school term will begin with remote instruction.  Students should retain existing devices for use when school begins on September 2nd.
