The after school program formally known as Bulldogs Tracks is back again for 2018-19 at Foster High School. Bulldog E.D.G.E.-- Education and Determination Generates Excellence-- is free and open to all high school students, whether they are just needing some extra help in a particular subject, an ELL student in need of assistance, or online taking our Red Comet classes. "It's nice to have that face to face for our on-line students as well," said Mylene Patton, Assessment Specialist at Foster High School.
The after school study sessions are underway, and there is no deadline for signing up. The sessions are open year-around.
"The purpose of the programs is to help students with their academic homework," said Patton. "It is to help students in a variety of ways in a peaceful environment for studying." she said.
- Time: 3pm - 5pm
- Days: Monday - Thursday, with no sessions on early release days. Extended hours (3-7pm) for a week before S1 finals, and two weeks before S2 finals.
- Subjects: Algebra Foundations, I and II; Geometry; Pre-Calculus; AP Media Arts; English; Writing; Social Studies; Science Foundations and Physics
This year for the first time, the program is also offering College Prep help for the SAT and ACT, and resume and cover letter coaching. Also new this year, the library conference room will be reserved for students who need to make up a quiz or test. Red Comet students may also utilize this space.
Everyone knows it is best to study when you aren't hungry. There will also be a complete meal served to those who come to study.
Students will need to fill out a parent permission slip to be returned to either Carrie Marting in the library, or Mylene Patton. The forms are also located in front of the librarians' computer where students check out.
If you have any questions please contact Mylene Patton via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 206-901-7917.
