Utility Help is Available for Families

Utility Help is Available for Families

Students in situations where basic needs are not being fully met often struggle in school. And with the temperatures outside steadily on their way down, inevitably family utility bills eventually go up.  Sometime the bills for families can get out of control and help is needed.  Luckily, there is help from Seattle City Light's Utility Discount Program.

To be eligible for the Utility Discount Program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You are the homeowner or renter; if a landlord pays all utilities, qualifying low-income tenants may still be eligible for utility financial help
  • You have a Seattle City Light and/or Seattle Public Utilities bill in your name
  • Your total household income in the one-month period must meet certain criteria prior to applying

If you are looking for more information on how you may be able to lower your bill, please attend the upcoming Energy Assistance Event being held in the commons at Showalter Middle School December 20th, from 4-6pm.
