Washington State Healthy Youth Survey

Results of the Healthy Youth Survey are used to better understand the experiences of Tukwila students and to inform efforts that support their well-being. Every two years, school districts across Washington survey students in grades six, eight, ten, and twelve on a wide variety of health topics. The survey is sponsored by the Department of Health, the Family Policy Council, and other state agencies. It asks questions related to safety, health, and alcohol and drug use.

Because the same survey has been administered over time, changes in attitudes and patterns of behavior can be observed. This allows Tukwila School District to see both trends in our own community and differences between our results and state averages.

Survey results are used by our schools, the district, community partners, and local health departments to plan and evaluate programs that reduce risks and strengthen support for Tukwila youth.
